Brothers

It is so great having 2 boys that are only 2 years apart. They are really at that age that they play with each other very well. The like to cook for each other, build towers (and of course knock them down) and they even play store. Every night, Thatcher will climb up into Sawyer's bed and give him a hug and a kiss and say "Love you Sawyer." It is so cute.

Sawyer's Drawing

Sawyer has always been a great artist. He loves to draw pictures. He is very creative and can spend hours playing with play-doh. Sometimes he does some of his best drawing on the magna-doodle, which frustrates me, because then I can not keep them. So this wonderful doodle he did, I just had to take a picture. Don't I look beautiful?!

Knit and Purl

I am still knitting. Once I knew the basics, I wanted to learn as much as I could. I have been getting knitting books at the library every week, and I always have a project going. Right now I am working on a cable knit blanket/wrap. I never thought I would be doing cable, but it really isn't that hard. It is so fun to take just plain yarn, and then turn it into something people can wear. So far I have just made hats and scarfs and cupcakes (yes, cupcakes!). My next project will be socks! I already have the yarn all picked out!!

This scarf I made for Pat

I made this hat for my dad. As I began to knit it, the camoflauge pattern just started to show up!!

My first cupcake!

This one has "sprinkles"

I knitted this hat for a friend who is expecting a baby girl next month. It was very time consuming but by far my favorite thing that I have made.

Taking a Walk on the Wild Side

Yesterday we drove all the way to the Wildlife World Zoo. It was really far. It took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there, but it was totally worth it. This zoo was much more open and some of the enclosures were smaller so we could see the animals much better. We went on a train ride that takes you out into a special area where the animals are roaming around in the open. That was very cool! We also took a boat ride and were able to see some kangaroos. Our favorite part of the day was the llamas. They came right over to us!! Pat just about kissed one. It was really neat to see them so close. Sawyer remembered llamas from watching Diego!! They also recently opened an Aquarium. The kids really liked seeing the fish and the sharks. Although I think Sawyer was expecting the sharks to be much bigger!! I wish we could go more often, but we are definitely planning another trip this fall.

This leopard (?) was above us in a cage/tunnel he could walk through. He looked just like Freeway when he is sleeping.

It was so neat to be right up close to the animals.

This bird was actually busy building a nest!!

This bird was too funny! He kept sticking his beak through the fence trying to get our cookies!!

Where has the time gone...

This May, the 26th, Pat and I have been together for 10 years. We have been married for 7 of those years. I think that this is pretty impressive considering we are only 28. And when I say we have been through a lot together, we really have. Starting next week, Pat will begin an internship. I am used to him being in school, but school is only for about 6 hours a week. An internship means, that in addition to his 45+ hours a week he puts in at Dillard's he will be working 20 hours a week for Gilbert Parks and Rec. It is going to be really hard when he is not around. The kids will miss him for sure... and so will I. This Saturday we are going out on a date, since we don't know how long it will be before we can go out again. Not just dinner and movie... well we are going to a movie and out to dinner, but we are also spending the entire day just the 2 of us. I can not even tell you how long it has been. So here are some pictures that have been taken over the last 10 years. Love you babe!

New Hobby

With Pat starting his internship this month I decided that I needed a new hobby. Sure I scrapbook and bake but I needed something else. Last month, I made my family mint wreaths for Christmas. It was nice to have a project to look forward to after the kids went to bed and something to keep my hands busy so I don't snack so much!! My Aunt Jean started knitting scarfs, so I thought I could try too. My Grandma had taught me years ago, so I didn't think it would be that hard to pick back up. I was looking for a book that would teach me really simply. Well, I found I Can Knit! Cool Knit Projects for Preteen Girls. This book was great and I was knitting away. So far I have only made 2 scarfs, but it is really fun. I even picked up a magazine and could read the pattern and everything. So beware of what I will be knitting you for next Christmas!!

Poor kid

It is a good thing that we are not having any pictures taken soon!! Poor Thatcher fell off the couch today. I was making lunch in the kitchen and he was lying on the floor crying. When he went down for a nap I noticed a little rug burn on his head. But when he woke up, his nose was bright red! Poor kid!!

Merry Christmas!!

Once again, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day came and went too fast!! I was most looking forward to this year, not to see what I would get, but to see the boys faces when they opened their presents. Christmas Eve, we always get together with my mother's side of the family. It is always so fun to see the boys play with their cousins! (And boy are there a lot of them!!) On the way home we drove around to look at lights. There is a special house that the boys refer to as "the guys house." He has his lights set to music that you can listen to in your car!! We must have driven by his house at least 15 times this month!! Christmas Eve my parents come back to out house and spend the night. The boys always love this. Before we went to bed we had to put out milk and cookies for Santa, and we had to put out Santa's keys. Since we don't have a fireplace, we have special magic keys so Santa can get inside!! ;) Christmas morning we all woke up early, Pat and I could not even sleep!! The first thing the boys asked for was Mima. They wanted to make sure that my parents were still here!! Then they got to see what Santa brought in the middle of the night. I always make sure to get their reaction on video because I do not want to miss a thing!! The first big present they opened was for both of them, and was a great big play kitchen from Mima and Papa. Thatcher started cooking right away. He has always loved helping me in the kitchen so now he has his very own to play with. He was so excited to see that some of his other presents consisted of play food and more dishes. We had a hard time getting him to open more presents because he was so busy cooking!! Sawyer just opened present after present. He was so excited. What he asked Santa for this year was a big spike. Well, Santa had hid it in our closet so we could bring it out very last. His reaction was priceless!! He heard the spike dinosaur walking around the corner and ran to see what the noise was. He caught a glimpse and ran back to the living room his face in total shock. Then he says, "A remote control Spike!!" and ran back to investigate. We could not tear him away from the toy he has been begging for, for the last 2 months!! He managed to drain the battery before lunch! While Thatcher was taking a nap, Pat went to go pick up his Grandma so she could spend the rest of the afternoon with us. We spent the rest of the day watching new movies, and just relaxing!! We had a great Christmas this year and we hope you did too!!

Thatcher all dressed up to go to the Christmas Eve party. He really loves snowmen this year!!
