The 2nd Annual Littler Family Day at the Zoo!!

We have started a Littler family tradition of going to the zoo the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Most of us have zoo memberships, so this is a great FREE family outing!! We go to the zoo a lot, but the kids always love to go with their cousins. We had so much fun!! First we went to an animal training show. Then we saw the new Komodo Dragon. Then we checked out monkey village. After lunch, we did the children's zoo. It was recently revamped and I was shocked to see how nice it was!! It used to be all dirt, but now it is nicely paved and landscaped!! If you haven't been to the zoo in awhile, I highly suggest you check it out!!

Watching the show.

After the animal training show, you could leave a tip, and this bird would take your money!!

All the younger cousins. Opal, Sawyer, Adeline, Thatcher and Emerson.

I just love this pic!!

Birthday Boy!!

Thatcher's actual birthday was after his party this year. It was really hard to come up with something fun to do on his birthday. Even though he had a party, I always like to do something special the day of. First we went to Toys R Us and let him pick out a toy. This was really hard. Sawyer already has all the stuff I would normally get for a 3 year old. We must have walked around for about 20 minutes before deciding on a play tent. Next, we took him to the mall, to go to the candy store. He loves sweets!! Then we went on a carousel ride. Then it was off to Krispy Kreme for some free donuts. After that, we took him to get his favorite dinner... Burger King!!

Opening up his Toy Story placemat and dishes we gave him the morning of his birthday!!

Hope you had a great birthday Thatcher!! We love you so much!!

Thatcher's Birthday Party!

Poor Thatcher was sick the whole week up to his party. I was totally afraid that we would have to cancel it. Then, the morning of his party it rained and rained. I was so worried that the party would have to be inside. The thought of having 30 people, 11 of which were under the age of 6, in my house still scares me!! ;) But, luckily Thatcher was feeling great, and the rain went away!! He had so much fun!! He hasn't had a party since he was 1 so this was his first big birthday party just for him. We had a pinata, which he called his Buzz Lighthair pun-atta. It was so cute!! He was so funny as he opened his presents. He got so excited over the cards and the gifts... just for him. Then when we did the cake, as soon as we lit the candle he blew it out before we even started singing. I think he had a great party!!

I couldn't find tattoos so we did face painting!! Sawyer had a planet!!

The pinata was a pull string!!

Sawyer always gets it!! This is the 3rd time he has picked the right one!!

He got so excited about this giraffe card!!

He is looking at Sawyer as everyone is singing to him.

All he ate from his cake was the frosting... using his finger.

Crocheting away!!

Here are a couple of pictures of stuff that I have been crocheting. I was knitting there for awhile, but I started crocheting and it is so much easier!! I can do more intricate patterns and it is so much easier to correct if I mess up!! Not to mention that it is quicker too!! Anyone want to learn?? :)
This is a very simple pattern that my Grandma taught me.

A baby hat that I made for my friends little girl who just turned 1!! It looks even cuter on her!!

A cute little hat that I made myself. And the best part is that it only took 4 hours!!

A cute little piggy bib!!

Halloween!!

I love, love, love Halloween!! It has got to be my favorite holiday!! Every year we decorate the front yard with lights and this year we even had music playing for the trick or treaters!!

Halloween morning started off with Sawyer waking up early as usual and wanting to carve the pumpkin. He just did not understand that Mommy does not want to carve a pumpkin at 7 in the morning. I am just not comfortable using a knife right after I wake up!! ;) So later in the morning we carved the pumpkin. Then after naps Mima and Papa came over and brought pizza!! Then it was time to go trick or treating!! We only went to about 10 houses this year. The boys had a blast and they looked super cute!! Thanks Seneca for letting us borrow the fireman costume!! Then after trick or treating we came home and sat in the driveway to hand out candy. I think the boys actually enjoyed this part more than getting the candy!! Sawyer would give the kids their candy, and if you come to our house without a costume, we make you do a trick!! You have to sing a song, do a dance or even a cartwheel before we will give you your candy!! It was so much fun this year with the music playing.... Monster Mash, Thriller and Ghostbusters!!! You could hear it all down the block!!

We hope everyone else had a great Halloween!!

Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon, after we picked Sawyer up from school, we headed to a little pumpkin patch at the Olive Mill. Sure... we could have saved a couple bucks and just bought our pumpkins at Fry's, but then I would have missed out on these cute pictures!! Totally worth it!!

It's Party Time!!

On Saturday, October 10th, we had a birthday party for Sawyer. Of course the theme was dinosaurs!! We had a blast!! Since he is getting a little older now, we were able to have more activities during the party. When the kids arrived, we had a dinosaur tattoo station. Then the kids just ran wild and played on the swing set. For dinner we had dino dogs, chips, fruit salad and veggies. Then we attempted to play a game. It was just like a cake walk where the kids walked in a circle to music. When the music stopped, we called a number and whoever was on that number got a prize!! To make the game more dino, we made dinosaur feet for the kids to walk on and they walked around to the song "Walk the Dinosaur" from Ice Age 3!! All the kids walking around was the cutest thing ever!! Then we had the t-rex pinata!! After that we opened presents and had cake!! We were able to have the entire party outside.... the weather was perfect!!
